Corona Virus: UPDATE!

Dear friends,

I am not usually the type of person to worry about getting sick. I'm like the opposite of a hypochondriac: I tend to think everything is fine, and I'll never get sick (and hey - I usually don't!).

But I'll admit, by simply seeing the influx of emails and instagram posts about what to do and what not to do regarding the corona virus...some worry has snuck in.

I was at the gym yesterday and I could feel the stress around touching things starting to creep in. I could feel the worry of every sneeze or cough possibly meaning something.

It's funny though because, even just in the glimpses of thinking that perhaps I got the virus simply because of a sniffle, I can feel how tempting it is to slip over to that mental worry. And with that, I can feel how...if I let it...my body would totally follow suit. It would just let me feel sick.

You know, when I was a kid in gymnastics, there was a period of time where I was really struggling every single day at gym practice, so...I would get sick ALL THE TIME. Stuffy nose. Sore throat. Headache. Sometimes even fever.

But as I got older, and particularly as I started to develop an understanding of my psyche, I realized - those colds were created by ME. Psychosomatic.

Now, to some extent, "psychosomatic" can be used to describe EVERYTHING. I know we often think of psychosomatic to mean that we made it up, or it's "all in our heads." But actually, everything that is happening within us consists of both "psycho" (the mind) and "soma" (the body).

And still, in revisiting these colds I used to get, I've realized how easy it is to let mind and body turn into an illness creating machine

So, some bad news.
No matter how safe, healthy, or unconcerned you are about the corona virus, if you are around people and/or are watching and reading updates about it, to some extent, the fear, and the possible un-safety of it all, is going to creep in. Your body is going to start to internalize this threat.

The good news.

First of all, you CAN regulate your body-mind (or your psycho-soma) to - for the most part - stay healthy and safe.

Second of all, we cover the basics of this in my online course.

And the even BETTER NEWS is that this ONLINE course does not affect your safety in regards to COVID-19. You do not even need to leave the house.

IN FACT, I have no doubt that this course will help you further prepare your system to stay strong, healthy, and safe, and continue to expand your wellness in general.

In this course you will learn...

  • what "being safe" means in your body, and how to find/create it

  • how understanding and FEELING your body is related to your overall health

  • how to read your body's signals more clearly

  • how to regulate your mental stressors, worries, and fears in an embodied way

  • so much more

This course, Breaking Up With Your Inner Good Girl, begins Sunday.
