ONLINE COURSE IS FINALLY HERE!!!!
INTRODUCING MY FIRST ONLINE COURSE!
AN EMBODIED JOURNEY OF TAKING OFF ENGRAINED STANDARDS OF PERFECTION, TO REVEAL AND CLAIM YOUR SAY AS A WOMAN.
After I finished my last teacher training in December, I've been waiting for the next step on my path to reveal itself. An online course has been in the cue for some time, but nothing was calling to me.
And then one day, I was watching Taylor Swift's documentary, 'Miss Americana,' on Netflix (I know, I know. I don't particularly care for her music, but what can I say? I am a fellow white girl trying to succeed and her words spoke to me), and she talked about her manager saying something like, good girls don't share their opinions.
GOOD GIRLS DON'T SHARE THEIR OPINIONS.
All of the sudden, I was flooded with realization.
What is the biggest thing that I'm always coaching people through?
What is it that I'm always working through myself?
That's right - feeling "GOOD ENOUGH."
Among the many themes that arise, the BIG one is breaking this need to be perfect, to be good enough, to live up to some real or made-up standard.
ALWAYS.
It's always there.
No matter who the client.
(My men too, in a different way.)
Even though most of us are not famous, pop-country singers, we still get that sentiment, good girls don't share their opinions.
Whether you've been made fun of for being too emotional, been told (or simply learned) that shutting up and being quiet is better, or been working on your perfect appearance since you were young...you get it.
You FEEL it.
Now, I won't go on the long rant about how this is engrained in our patriarchal society (although I do a little bit on the course page here), but I want to make it known that these feelings and experiences are WOUNDS. They are the collective trauma of the oppression of women. (Trauma is anything that is TOO much for our system.)
This is important, not only for the social change that I think our society is getting closer to actually making...
But also because these wounds LIVE IN YOUR BODY. Meaning, your nervous system has actually programmed itself around this weird set of rules. Around what's ok and what's not ok. Because that's our nervous system's job: to detect what's ok and what's not, and make sure we react appropriately so that we can survive.
The life of being a woman isn't just about genetics (nature), or even learned habits and behaviors (nurture)...
It is in your cells.
Your nerves.
Your organs.
Your breath.
Your entire being functions within this framework.
This means: it isn't your fault, and it isn't because you aren't strong enough, that you have a hard time speaking up, or that you feel insecure about how you look, or that you are on edge about being judged. You cannot (I repeat, CANNOT) THINK your way to no longer being affected by these standards.
IT'S NOT IN YOUR HEAD. IT'S IN YOUR BODY.
The good news here is that this is healable. Whether you've experienced more intense trauma as a woman, or you simply worry about how you look from time to time, there are some basic tools that can help rework your system to align more deeply with YOU at your core, and less with society's idea of what's right.
Enter: BREAKING UP WITH YOUR INNER GOOD GIRL.
This course is simple.
Affordable.
Accessible.
It's 5 weeks of LIVE virtual sessions, where you get the course content delivered by me. The course content is everything from lecture and discussion, to deep embodiment practices where you'll learn how to actually feel your emotions physically, and be able to move them.
If you sign up, you also get downloadable practices for you to continue doing the work on your own (forever and ever), in addition to a follow-up group call we'll have every week to make sure you get an opportunity to share, ask questions, and connect with other women in the same boat.
It's only $247 for the whole month-long journey. $200 if you sign up before March 1! ;)
Oh and, if you can't make the live calls, a recording will be sent to you afterwards, so you won't miss a thing.
So, why NOT do it?
I have no idea. The resources are here. And I am SO excited to give them to you.
We start March 15.
Your payment is your RSVP to join, which you can do now by clicking here.
Or by going here and then clicking "ENROLL NOW."
Or by emailing me here and I'll send it to you.
Women,
Join me in not only re-writing your personal story around how you show up for yourself and in the world, but also re-writing the standards under which we live. Together, we get to shift the mentality and physicality that says women have to fit in this box with these roles; and we get to discover what it's like to embrace and embody fullness.
This course is about releasing self-doubt and criticism. But even more than that, it's about beginning the journey of healing yourself, and healing the world.
